Claxton’s is a relatively new independent bottler from North Yorkshire, England. Like all the indepentend bottlers, they take casks from different distilleries and mature them they way they think best or, in case of this whisky, put it in a different cask.
This whisky is a 6 year old Caol Ila single cask release that was put in first fill Pedro Ximenez casks and they let it age for about 6-8 months in those casks.

Tasting notes:
- Nose: plum, raisin, light ashy smoke
- Palate: wood, figs, dates, raisin, BBQ smoke/sweet BBQ sauce
- Finish: long, sweet, smoke
